The Powerful Delusion: The Coming Tsunami of Satanic Energy

powerful delusionThe powerful delusion will be a tsunami of deceiving energy (1753 ἐνέργεια energeia) causing belief in error (4106 πλάνη plane) that will flood the earth like a tsunami when God stops restraining it (2 Thess. 2:11). This is how God sends upon them a powerful delusion.

Various translations bring this out clearly:

God sends on them:

a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false. NET
a power that deludes people so that they believe what is false, NJB
an inworking of error, to the end they should believe in the falsehood ROT
an influence that will mislead them so that they will believe the lie. CEB

Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away (520 ἀπάγω apago) unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led (71 ἄγω ago) (1 Cor. 12:2) KJV

Paul reminded the Corinthians they once experienced a “deluding influence” that led them [like helpless prisoners going to jail] to voiceless idols [to listen!!!], leading them (71 ἄγω ago) like stupid animals to the slaughter, wherever the devils wanted them to go.

What great falsehood does the deluding “energy of error” teach? That the “man of sin” is the Christ, even while denying the Scripture teaching Jesus is the only begotten Son of the Father incarnate in human flesh (Jn. 1:1, 14, 18; 20:31), denying the deity of the Father and the Son (1 Jn. 2:22; 4:3; 2 Jn. 1:17).

And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. “For many will come in My name, saying,`I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. (Matt. 24:4-5) NKJ

Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God. (2 Thess. 2:3-4) NKJ

The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders. (2 Thess. 2:3, 9) NKJ

Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. (1 Jn. 2:22 KJV)

Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour. (1 Jn. 2:18) NKJ

4 So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?”
5 And he was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to continue for forty-two months.
6 Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven. (Rev. 13:4-6) NKJ

The False Christ claims to be Jesus, but inconsistently neither Paul nor John call him a Jesus impersonator. As scripture is always 100% correct these “contrary details” indicate something is very unique about his claim to be Jesus making him different from the usual crop of false Christs in history. Contrary is not contradictory—pieces of a puzzle are contrary being different shapes, but they combine to make a picture when assembled correctly.

How can someone claiming to be “Jesus” and coming “in His name” deny the Father and the Son?

A new kind of Jesus has appeared in modern times and is being preached and readily accepted by many in the world, via ancient astronaut theory and Raelian UFO cults and similar groups denying YHWH is God the Father, or YHWH Jesus God His Only begotten Son, who came in the flesh via His incarnation in the virgin birth of Jesus by Mary the “God bearer”. They deny the very definition of God, claiming Deity doesn’t exist.

They attempt to bridge the divide between Scripture and this new atheism claiming the appearances of deity in history were extraterrestrial appearances, by “alien creator scientists” who designed all life on planet, including superior humans “like Jesus.”

While it is unknown if the Raelian cult will play an important role in the coming of the Antichrist, the Satanic lies embedded in the cult will likely exist in the preaching of the “Man of Sin”, who will work all sorts of miracles by Satanic power.

If any believer think this impossible, they haven’t considered the sad state of critical thinking among the population, its nearly non-existent. Satanic genius is evident in his false gospel, for example Satan admits to Rael the Scripture was accurately transmitted through the ages, heading off any easy apologetic rebuttal. Then he defines most of scripture as poetic and ignorant mysticism because technologically challenged humans deemed everything miraculous.

Now I would like you to refer to the Bible where you will find traces of the truth about your past. These traces, of course, have been somewhat distorted by successive transcribers who could not conceive of such high technology and could therefore only explain what was described as being a mystical and supernatural force. Only the parts of the Bible that I will translate are important. Other parts are merely poetic babblings of which I will say nothing. I am sure you can appreciate that, thanks to the law, which said that the Bible had always to be re-copied without changing even the smallest detail, the deepest meaning has remained intact throughout the ages, even if the text has been larded with mystical and futile sentences.-Rael. Intelligent Design: Message from the Designers (p. 10-11). Nova Distribution. Kindle Edition.

Don’t believe the non-elect will consider that convincing? TARES (Mt. 13:24-30; Rev. 11:2) will because they want to. TARES will choose to believe because they prefer lies above the truth (2 Th. 2:3, 10-12; 1 Tim. 4:1; 2 Pet. 2:1).

This “man of lawlessness” makes his appearance in an apostate church (2 Th. 2:3-4) ready for something new (1 Tim. 4:1), anything that bridges the fictional gap between science and Christianity. When Michael casts Satan and his angels out of the Dimension of Heaven (Rev. 12:7-9) and they appear visibly disguised as UFOs, the collapse of belief in the real Jesus Christ of Scripture will be nearly complete. Only a small core of believers will remain, known as “the elect” (Mt. 24:24; 2 Th. 2:13-15).

The arrival will propel the globalists to power and they will create a new world order that is composed of ten principle nations including some from the eastern Roman Empire

But that aspect of “Chancellor Adonikam” and Revived Roman Empire featuring the rebuilt city of Babylon utilizing fallen angel technology is discussed elsewhere on this site.

Here the focus is on the deluding influence that subverts critical evaluation of truth so falsehood is thoroughly believed. I speak of the “mystery” or “secret power of lawlessness” which is spiritism and its ability to telepathically induce belief in error.

Telepathic suggestion combined with a force like electricity or magnetism can incite cause physical and mental experiences that seem to confirm whatever falsehood is being telepathically implanted into the human mind. Here the truth of the Gospel is telepathically subverted blinding the mind to the truth:

“Those by the wayside are the ones who hear; then the devil comes and takes away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. (Lk. 8:12) NKJ

But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them. (2 Cor. 4:3-4) NKJ

Some victims discern its an “outside” influence causing the electro-chemical production inflaming their sinful lusts, but they misidentify it:

Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death. (Jas. 1:13-15) NKJ

Think it can’t happen to you? On the contrary, everyone alive has been victimized by demonic telepathic suggestion:

in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works (1754 ἐνεργέω energeo) in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others. (Eph. 2:2-3) NKJ

The whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one. (1 Jn. 5:19) NKJ

In the last days God lifts His restraint of spiritism in effect “sending this powerful deluding energy that will cause belief in falsehood (2 Th. 2:9-11), unleashing “the spirit that now worketh (1754 ἐνεργέω energeo) in the children of disobedience”. (Eph. 2:2) KJV

Don’t think this energy can fool Christians? It fooled the Thessalonians even though God was still restraining it from full manifestation. Via “spirit…word…letter” the Thessalonians became terrified Christ had left them behind (2 Th. 2:1-2), that the resurrection/rapture “is past already” overthrowing “the faith of some” (2 Tim. 2:18)

Paul warned the Corinthians to recall their former experiences with familiar spirits, lest they be fooled again (1 Cor. 12:2).

Scripture never identifies an experience that is “from God” contrasting it any telepathic suggestion by the Devil because God doesn’t lead by telepathic suggestion or “energy” transmission.

God causes us to “know” or “perceive” (1492 εἰδῶ eido 1 John 2:20-21) via the Holy Spirit bearing witness to our conscience (Jn. 8:9; Rom. 2:15; 9:1) what is true, that is how we “know all things.”

It isn’t verbal or an experience of the flesh, body or brain—Its “Spirit to spirit” (Rom. 8:16), in the realm of the “spirit” and hence non-verbal. Its how we “know” God is our Father, that we are the children of God (Rom. 8:15-16). Its not telepathic, its Spirit to spirit communion on a non-verbal level. Its not a feeling or experience, its “perception.”

That the minds of Christians are so enlightened that they have a new perception of the truth. They see it in a light in which they did not before. They see it as truth. They see its beauty, its force, its adaptedness to their condition and wants. They understand the subject of religion better than they once did, and better than others do. What was once dark appears now plain; what once had no beauty to their minds now appears beautiful; what was once repellant is now attractive. (2.) They see this to be true; that is, they see it in such a light that they cannot doubt that it is true. They have such views of the doctrines of religion, that they have no doubt that they are true, and are willing on the belief of their truth to lay down their lives, and stake their eternal interests. (3.) Their knowledge of truth is enlarged. They become acquainted with more truths than they would have known if they had not been under the teaching of the Holy Spirit. Their range of thought is greater; their vision more extended, as well as more clear.-
Barnes, A. (1884–1885). Notes on the New Testament: James to Jude. (R. Frew, Ed.) (p. 306). London: Blackie & Son.

Confirming this, in our flesh dwelleth no thing good (Rom. 7:18) so no “feeling of the flesh (body or brain)” can be “God’s leading.”

Objectively God guides us through His Word the Bible (Ps. 119:105, 130; John 17:17; 2 Thess. 2:15).

The identity of a spirit can only be known by its fruits (Mt. 7:17-18). The Holy Spirit will never say anything bad about Jesus Christ, nor can an evil spirit declare Jesus Christ is its LORD (1 Cor. 12:3). For more about testing the spirits click here.

When following our conscience we “feel good”, that feeling electro-chemically produced. Its possible the same feeling can result from doing evil, if one is addicted to crack endorphins will still be produced. Crack addicted women have murdered their own children and “felt good” about it. That proves feeling itself has no necessary connection to what is right, truth. Therefore, a feeling cannot be God’s leading, to believe otherwise is putting the cart before the horse.

The person who experiences a spiritual presence while a scientist is manipulating the magnetic field surrounding his brain might feel “peace” or “joy” or that “a presence” is near. Therefore, feelings do not identify the source. The body’s reaction to such outside telepathic or energy transmission isn’t any different if its generated by a “good conscience.” The same electro-chemical reaction occurs. So the “feeling” isn’t materially different, therefore, feelings cannot indicate God’s will, direction or desire.

This isn’t revolutionary thinking. Every critical thinking Christian knows the insanity that is the fruit of experiential Christianity.

But how would I know about this? Its time for me to be embarrassed and confess, I like the Thessalonians, was deceived by a deluding influence. For a time I mistook a feeling as “God’s leading.”

It happened while I was researching the “a god” teaching of the Jehovah’s Witnesses. In their “Aid To Bible Understanding” (WatchTower, NY, 1971, p. 1669) they cite Johannes Greber’s “A New Translation Based Upon the Oldest Manuscripts” in support of their Jn 1:1 rendering “The Word was a god.” I felt compelled to check that out, so I went to the public library and discovered in his forward his claim to be in communication with spirits. Whenever the spirits were silent, then he used the Greek Manuscripts. So in effect, the Jehovah’s Witnesses cited a devil for support of their incorrect “the word was a god” rendering. That apologetic bombshell was shared with every apologist I could and it became an important element in witnessing to Jehovah’s Witnesses.

But, I associated a feeling with this apologetic bonanza (false cause fallacy), and began “consulting it” for what I should do in Christ. Not for doctrine, the Bible alone is the Word of God, but for “indication”, what I should do in service to Christ. That resulted in total failure, NOTHING succeeded, only wasted time and resources resulted. It took years, but finally I had enough. I did a simple test, seems almost stupid now. I was at an intersection and asked, “Which way should I go?” The “feeling” indicated, “Go right!” So I went left and as I proceeded down the road the “feeling” that “indicated” I should go right, confirmed going left was the right way! That was it, no more!

Its hard to describe the “sense of loss”, like losing a companion. But it was soon replaced by the joy of liberty, liberation from contradictory and confused “indications” that never resulted in any gain for our LORD Jesus Christ.

Perhaps God permitted I experience this so I could write the above article, warn others. There is not a day that goes by I do not thank Him profusely for liberating me.

When God lifts the restraint on spiritism, the energy inducing error likely gains strength exponentially. Removing the restraint will certainly permit the Dragon and his Frog like Nephilim walk again among mankind, just as they did in the Days of Noah (Gen. 6:1-4).

Experiential Christianity is not the Christianity taught in the NT. God guides us through our Bible trained conscience, not any feeling. Although an argument from silence*, if a particular feeling was God’s leading, wouldn’t God describe it precisely in the Bible? Of course He would! He didn’t because no feeling is God’s leading. The Bible never commands obedience to feelings, He commands obedience to His Word, feeling cannot add or take away from God’s word (Dt. 4:2; 13:4).

What about being led by the Spirit, isn’t that a feeling? No, its Spirit to spirit communication, outside of the realm of the physical:

14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: (Rom. 8:14-16) KJV

Knowing God is our Father isn’t a feeling, its a “knowing”, a perception not physically produced. Confirming God’s leading is through our Bible trained conscience, Paul says the Holy Spirit bears him witness through his conscience:

I tell the truth in Christ, I am not lying, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Spirit, (Rom. 9:1) NKJ

That’s not a “feeling”, its perception. John the apostle confirms this when he says God’s anointing will grant we distinguish the truth from the antichrist lie:

20 But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know (1492 εἰδῶ eido) all things.
21 I have not written unto you because ye know (1492 εἰδῶ eido) not the truth, but because ye know (1492 εἰδῶ eido)it, and that no lie is of the truth. (1 Jn. 2:20-21 KJV)

In context this is knowing all things inspired by evil spirits, anti (instead of) Christ spirits. We perceive the spirit inspiring the prophecy whether its of God or not. The spirit of antichrist cannot fool those led by the Holy Spirit of Christ (Mt. 24:24; Mk. 13:22), they immediately perceive when something is wrong:

Those born from above know something is wrong when those claiming to be filled with the Holy Spirit begin barking like dogs or writhing like snakes. Its perception, not a feeling.

That is what John meant when he said YOUR unction would grant you perception into such things. You will perceive something is wrong with it, you know even if you can’t prove it at the time. Only God and you can affect your conscience; if Satan could then God could not judge the world (Rom. 2:14-16).

What of Ephesians 4:23, doesn’t that speak of a force actuating the brain?

but that YOU should be made new in the force actuating YOUR mind –Eph. 4:23 New World Translation

No, “mind” (3563 νοῦς nous) isn’t the physical brain, its one’s intellectual self, their understanding. τῷ πνεύματι τοῦ νοὸς ὑμῶν “the spirit of-the mind of-you” refers to “the attitude” (NIV) of your mind, the non-physical disposition of a person, the way he thinks about life etc. In context, it is clear this is not about an electrical force “actuating the brain”, its about thinking new thoughts consistent with being born from above:

22 that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts,
23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind,
24 and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.
25 Therefore, putting away lying, “Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor,” for we are members of one another. (Eph. 4:22-25) NKJ

Another example of our anointing granting perception into all things demonic, I perceive its Satan speaking in Johannes Greber’s NT when he’s not translating the Greek, the Book of Enoch when the “angel” speaks, so also the Koran, the Book of Mormon. That’s not God or one of His angels speaking.

In the end time the powerful delusion will be an unrestrained energy of error. Coupled with the “arrival” of fallen angels disguised as a helpful alien race, it certainly will be a powerful delusion.

The “ancient astronaut theory” has prepared humanity to accept this delusion, and when they do the apostasy from all called God will be incredible. Perhaps this is why Christ asked:

When the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? (Lk. 18:8) KJV

Try the Spirits that appear in Dreams or Abductions

* Arguments from silence are unsound, but if a very probable cause of the silence can be proposed, they have some weight. For example, someone not breathing for days, that silence likely caused by death. Although an argument from silence, its very likely correct. How could God fail to detail precisely the physical sensation that is “God’s leading” if it existed? He could not.

QUESTION: How are the two nouns related in the genitive construction ἐνέργειαν πλάνης a working of delusion?

1. This means a working that results in delusion [EBC, El, Hn, ICC, NIC, SSA, TH, WBC, Wd; NJB]: God will cause that a power will work in them that causes them to be deluded.-Blight, R. C. (2008). An Exegetical Summary of 1 & 2 Thessalonians (2nd ed., p. 224). Dallas, TX: SIL International.

The noun energeia approaches technical term status in the NT because it is used exclusively for divine (Eph. 1:19; 3:7; 4:16; Phil. 3:21; Col. 1:29; 2:12) or demonic (2 Thess. 2:9, 11) in-working.

This “energy misleading them” is the opposite of the Holy Spirit guiding into all truth. That contrast is evident in the context.

a) Vs. 9-12 is about antichrists deceived by the secret power of lawlessness because they reject the truth of Scripture contradicting Satan’s spirits and their claims.

b) Vs. 13-15 is about “Christians” sanctified by the Holy Spirit cleansed by the Word Holy Scripture (Eph. 5:26; John 17:17 comp. Acts 2:38, 42). Paul cites their obedience to apostolic “tradition” which today can be found only in the New Testament. They discern the conflict with scripture and therefore reject the claims of the Antichrist and Satan’s spirits (cp 1 John 4:6).

9 The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders,
10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie,
12 that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

13 But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God from the beginning chose you for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth,
14 to which He called you by our gospel, for the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
15 Therefore, brethren, stand fast and hold the traditions which you were taught, whether by word or our epistle. (2 Thess. 2:9-15) NKJ

Telepathic communication seems implicit in the following texts:

12 “Those by the wayside are the ones who hear; then the devil comes and takes away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. (Luk 8:12) NKJ

3 But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing,
4 whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them. (2Co 4:3-4) NKJ

For this reason, when I could no longer endure it, I sent to know your faith, lest by some means the tempter had tempted you, and our labor might be in vain. (1Th 3:5) NKJ

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; (1 Tim. 4:1) KJV

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. (1Jo 4:1) NKJ

That spirits communicate telepathically is implicit in James’ denial God tempts. Its implicit that would occur in the realm of thought, not vocal discourse:

Let no one say, being tempted — ‘From God I am tempted,’ for God is not tempted of evil, and Himself doth tempt no one (Jas. 1:13 YLT)

The decision about v 13a cannot be separated from the way the rest of the verse runs: “he himself (αὐτός) tempts no one.” The function of this statement—which is not a repetition of what was said earlier but carries forward the author’s thought—is to assert that God is not directly responsible for the sending of temptation. Perhaps James is making allowance for the origin of evil to be demonic (as in 3:15; 4:7).”-Martin, R. P. (1998). James (Vol. 48, p. 35). Dallas: Word, Incorporated.

It is impossible Holy God tempt with evil for that requires Holy God permit evil in His presence, entertain evil thoughts and then tempt others—as impossible as darkness can emanate from light (1 John 1:5; James 1:16-17) , or fire from water.

However, the victim correctly perceived the Tempter was external (1 Cor. 7:5; 2 Cor. 11:3; 1 Thess. 3:5).

The “energy of error” works inwardly exciting the victims own physical desires:

but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. (Jas. 1:14) NIV

To sum up, the “energy of Satan” is an “energy of delusion” that produce desires and experiences that seductively authenticate falsehood is true. It follows when God lifts the restraint of spiritism and they pour out of the abyss (2 Thess. 2:6-7; Rev. 9:1-4; Matt. 7:22-23) infesting the air men breathe, many will be deceived by these spirits of antichrist into believing they do signs and wonders in Christ’s name (Matt. 7:22-23) just as these in John’s day:

18 Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour.
19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us. (1 Jn. 2:18-19) NKJ

Jesus prophesied “in that day” of Judgment many would appeal to their former Christian profession, calling Him “lord lord” implying they still felt affection for Him. They are pleading He not cast them into the eternal flame.

They cite the many powerful works they once did in His Name before their conversion to the Son of Destruction; surely that merited something? But Christ replies, “I never knew you” thereby denying the wonders they did were by the Spirit of Christ, therefore they were by the “energy of Satan” (2 Thess. 2:7-12; Rev. 16:14)

This doesn’t contradict Christ’s promise to God’s children, only THEY would not get a serpent if they asked for a fish. The promise is irrelevant to TARES:

8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? (Matt. 7:8-11 KJV)

Everything I wrote on my site is the result of my independent studies, I’m not copying anyone else. It is special to discover Dr. David Allen Lewis preceded me by decades, I’m watching this video now for the first time and so far I’m in 100% agreement. In fact, he proposed other things that are new to me that seem very plausible, such as connecting harmful abductions with the Dragon blaming unfriendly aliens for “the rapture disappearance of people”. His predictions arose from analytical study of scripture, so do mine. I repeat what he said, it anything is wrong in my predictions, its my fault not scripture’s. It means I failed to understand it properly. The Bible remains 100% correct the infallible and inerrant Word of God. Its very confirming he’s been predicting these things starting in 1955 well ahead of my time and yet we are in 100% agreement. Its astounding.

Commenting on the Sixth Trumpet, the late Scientist Henry M. Morris distilled the essence of the end time delusion, albeit never referring to the ancient alien theory. But what he says is clearly consistent with the warning given on this site, that the end time falsehood will be the lie God is a finite like everyone else, who can be defeated by the “extra-terrestrial” Dragon, Beast and False Prophet:

Even though one-third of all such unrepentant rebels had perished in this most recent judgment, the survivors were more hardened against God than ever. As a matter of fact they had by now become open Satanists, worshiping devils. They knew by now that the judgments were from God (Revelation 6:16, 17), and that Christ was up there in the heavens preparing to return to earth with His resurrected saints (Revelation 12:12; 13:6), but had decided to cast their lot with Satan, believing that they could with him defeat even the hosts of heaven (Revelation 13:4).

No longer will there be atheists and humanists who deny the existence of God and His holy angels. They will have seen the latter flying across the sky and proclaiming judgment (Revelation 8:13; 14:6, 7), but will still reject God as true Creator, believing with Satan that even the angels and God Himself are mere evolutionary products of an eternal self-existing universe of matter and energy. They will thus have become set in their adherence to Satan’s monstrous self-deception that he can become God (Isaiah 14:12–14) and that they, through following him and his demonic hierarchy, will themselves become “as gods” (Genesis 3:5), no longer restrained from anything they wanted to do (Genesis 11:6; Romans 3:18).-Morris, H. M. (1983). The Revelation Record: A Scientific and Devotional Commentary on the Prophetic Book of the End Times (p. 172). Carol Stream, IL: Tyndale.
