On my earth the 666 Beast makes his appearance and operates within a seven-year period that is split into two parts. The first 3 ½ years or 42 months he is the “man of sin” who rose to mislead an already fallen away church into greater depths of apostasy. Then at mid-week he changes into the “the son of perdition” 666 Beast, working great signs and wonders to “show” that he is “God.” (2Th 2:3-4)
But Adonikam’s character would have remained mysterious if John didn’t connect his 666 riddle (Rev. 13:18) to the Beast rising from the sea (Rev. 13:1-2). That clue plus the angel’s interpretation of the seven kings (Rev. 17:10) showed where in Daniel’s book we could find the interpretive key.
1 Then I stood on the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast rising up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his horns ten crowns, and on his heads a blasphemous name.
2 Now the beast which I saw was like a leopard, his feet were like the feet of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. The dragon gave him his power, his throne, and great authority. (Rev 13:1-2 NKJ)
John’s standing on the sand of the sea is Biblical Allusion to Daniel 7:2-8 where similar kingdom beasts rise up from the sea. Notice John reverses the order of appearance. In John its leopard, bear then lion, but in Daniel its lion, bear then leopard. That informs us not to confuse these beasts, unlike Daniel’s successive kingdoms John sees one Kingdom Beast rising up out of the sea.
The ten horns on John’s Beast which the angel interprets as the final ten kings who reign until crushed by Christ (Rev. 17:12-14) show this is the “ten toe version” of Rome (Daniel 2:40-44), Daniel’s fourth beast (Dan. 7:7-11). This is the “revived Roman empire” that rises up in the end time. But it is different than the Western European Roman Empire, this beast’s body is a leopard, that means its capitol and power are in the “eastern leg” of the old Roman Empire, what once was the Grecian Empire of Alexander the Great (Dan 7:6).
Confirming this is the correspondence to the “heads” in Daniel 7:2-7. The first two beasts have one head each, the third beast four heads, that totals six heads. Therefore, the head of the fourth beast is the seventh head (Dan. 7:2-7), just like John’s seven headed beast. Notice also they both have ten horns.
But amazingly enough, the angel does not say “six have fallen” Revelation 17:10, he says “five have fallen”! So that doesn’t fit Daniel 7:2-8! That caused a lot of confusion among the commentators on my earth, some even suggesting these are actual kings and not kingdoms as in the book of Daniel.
9 “Here is the mind which has wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sits,
10 and they are seven kings; five have fallen, one is, the other has not yet come; and when he comes, he must remain a little while.
11 “And the beast which was and is not, is himself also an eighth, and is one of the seven, and he goes to destruction. (Rev. 17:9-11 NAS)
But the actual kingdoms are different in John, he is looking from the end time into the entire span of human history. The seven great empires of history 1)Old Babylonian, 2)Assyrian, 3)New Babylonian, 4)Medo-Persian, 5)Grecian 6)”one is” Roman 7)British Empire.
British empire whose mandate over Palestine was only a short while is the seventh head. The Balfour Declaration supported the establishment of Israel but Britain’s mandate over Palestine was short lived. This is consistent with Scripture listing only nations that impacted Israel in a meaningful way. The League of Nations/United Nations isn’t a kingdom and never did anything binding. America makes her appearance with Britain as the Beast with two horns like a lamb.
Therefore, the wounded head (old Babylon) “was and is not” (in ruins) and is healed (restored in the Grecian Roman Empire) and so “of the seven” but itself is an eighth king (Rev. 17:11) and goes off into destruction.
11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.
“Of the seven” can be translated as “One of the Seven” (NAS) , hence Babylon rebuilt in the end times using fallen angel (demonic) technology. That is why it symbolically rises out of the abyss of demons (Rev. 9:1-3).
Babylon “was” in total ruin, “as if slain” while buried under desert sand. It is the eighth king “one of the seven” (NAS) rebuilt in the end time (slain head is healed Rev. 13:3) with demonic technology.
The Harlot rides this beast (Zech. 5:6-11; Rev. 17:3). Both she and it will go off into total destruction, but the Harlot is first as she becomes redundant when the “Man of Sin” false-Christ morphs into the Antichrist “son of destruction” at mid-week (2 Th. 2:3-4; Rev. 13:5). Then the kings ruling with him will destroy her with fire in literal fulfillment of NT prophecy against the Harlot (Rev. 17:16-18).
Rebuilt Babylon ascends by demonic energy of Satan (Rev. 9:1-3. 2Th. 2:9) fallen angel technology (2 Thess. 2:9; Dan. 9:27). That supernatural character will inspire worship of the Dragon and the Man of Lawlessness false Christ who appear invincible (Rev. 13:3-4; Dan. 9:27; 11:36-39).
Rebuilt Babylon “will go off into destruction” fulfilling all that is written concerning her (Jer. 50:3, 13, 39-40; 51:29; Rev. 18:2-10) by forces from her North (Jer. 50:41-42; 51:47-48) but ultimately it will be God’s judgment against her (Rev. 17:16-17; 18:8; Isa. 13:19-22; Jer. 51:63-64; Rev. 18:21).
After Adonikam morphs into the Assyrian 666 Beast, he has at his command Satan’s angelic armies who wage war against God’s armies in heaven (Dan. 8:9-10). In order that those following the beast have their hearts hardened, God permits them limited success just as He permitted the magicians deceive Pharaoh (Ex. 7:11-14, 22-23).
9 From one of these, the small one, sprang a horn which grew to great size towards south and east and towards the Land of Splendour.
10 It grew right up to the armies of heaven and flung armies and stars to the ground, and trampled them underfoot. (Dan 8:9-10 NJB)
Therefore, Adonikam is the prophesied “Assyrian” who is destroyed at Armageddon, and in the mountains of Israel (Isa. 14:18-27). The “king of the North (Dan. 11:36-12:1), the “Prince to come” (Dan. 9:26-27) “Man of Sin” (2 Thess. 2:3) “False Christ” (Mat. 24:5, 24; Mk. 13:22) who covenants with Israel for 3.5 years but at mid-week becomes “the Desolator” (Dan. 8:13; 9:27; 12:11) “King of fierce countenance” (Dan. 8:23) “Son of Destruction” Judas (2 Thess. 2:3; Jn. 17:12) “serpent by the way, adder that biteth” (Gen. 49:17) Big Mouth Beast (Rev. 13:5-8; Dan. 7:20, 25) hoping to change times and law by blaspheming God as an Extraterrestrial, claiming YHWH can be defeated allied with the Dragon “God of forces” (Rev. 16:13-14; Dan. 11:38-39; Dan. 9:27), “that Wicked” (2 Thess. 2:8) “the Deceiver” “the Antichrist” who denies the Father and the Son (1 Jn. 2:18, 22; 4:3; 2 Jn. 1:7), God in Holy Trinity.
The end time “week” is seven years long (Dan. 9:27). God’s two witnesses preach 3.5 years until killed by an ascending Beast (Rev. 11:7). As this was among the Beast’s first acts, and he reigns for 42 months (Rev. 13:5), the total is seven years.
